Hello Weekenders, the sunny days have arrived, and outdoor events are catching up, so take your pick for this weekend.
The 2018 Kapstadt Cup, Cape Town’s premier grassroots football festival, is happening over the next three days at Hartleyvale Stadium.
Kicking off today, the opening ceremony will be held tonight where Ready D, Khris Njokwana and Jimmy Nevis will perform.
This year, 22 clubs making up 80 teams and a total of 800 players will go head-to-head in the U7 to U13 age categories.
This is a first for Cape Town grassroots football and organisers are hoping it evolves into an international club competition.

The much-anticipated celeb challenge will take place during lunch breaks on Saturday and Sunday.
Former Springboks Bryan Habana, Bolla Conradie, Morgan Newman, Joe Pietersen, Dylan Des Fountain, Tonderai Chavhanga, Breyton Paulse, Conrad Hoffman and Pieter Louw will lace up in an exhibition showcase.
There’s also a comedians team, including Yaaseen Barnes and Carl Weber, while the FC Kapstadt legends team includes freestyle footballer champ, Khris Njokwana, and Orlando Pirates midfielder Asavela Mbekile who started his career at FC Kapstadt.

The media rock star team includes Lance Witten from the Cape Argus, Good Hope FM Breakfast show host Dan Corder and vlogger Devdondidit.
Entry fee for adults is R8 and R5 for children.
The first game starts at 4.30pm on Friday.
On Saturday and on Sunday the soccer action commences at 8am.
