Petina Coetzee, accused of offering R200 000 for a hit on her husband, was due in the Wynberg Magistrates' Court on Friday.
The 44-year-old Kenilworth woman was arrested in a police sting in which she allegedly offered money to have her husband, Austin, killed.
On October 24, Coetzee was granted bail of R30,000 with strict conditions. The bail conditions included Coetzee reporting to the Elsies River Police Station every day, she is not allowed to contact any state witnesses, she has had to hand in her passport, and cannot leave the Western Cape without the investigating officer’s written permission.
The mother of three was arrested on October 18, after police were tipped off that she intended to hire a hitman to kill her husband, who is more than two decades her senior.
Police pounced as the accused was allegedly handing over an undisclosed amount of money to the “hitman” at the Lansdowne Train Station parking lot.
The accused has been married to 67-year-old Austin Coetzee for nine years, and the couple have a three-year-old son.
