Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is min gespin about £98m striker Romelu Lukaku’s six-game goal drought for the Blues.
After four goals in four matches following his club-record move from Inter at the start of the season, the Belgian has been shooting blanks for the European champions.
But ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League Group H clash against Malmo, Tuchel is backing his ace to come good and fire up partner Timo Werner as the Blues look to bounce back from defeat to Juventus last time out in Europe.
Following their 1-0 win over Brentford, where defender Ben Chilwell got the winner, Tuchel says: “I am not concerned [about Lukaku’s form] as I felt him a bit tired, and then isolated because we were defending too deep as a block.
“I felt him a bit tired. Both of them, Romelu and Timo, were too far away to help us escape the pressure. That was the problem, but I have no concerns.
“Normally the best thing is that he scores but he is very unselfish at the moment, looking for Timo in good situations.”
