Cape Town City wing wizard Surprise Ralani says being a marked man keeps him on his toes.
The 33-year-old has been in the wars lately, with an ugly tackle from Baroka’s Basil Mphahlele earlier this month leading to groot unhappiness with the two teams nearly coming to blows.
Ralani, though, says the gash on the back of his calf is just motivation.
He says: “I definitely have that at the back of my mind that each team I play against is going to come tight and tough on me, but that makes it more interesting for me to see how can I still crack it.”
City go to Chippa this weekend for a last-16 Nedbank Cup clash looking for a first win in their last four matches, before facing them again on Wednesday.
And Ralani adds: “Chippa has never been an easy opponent, especially for us I must say. It’s even more complicated because we play them twice in a few days. Hopefully we can come away with two victories.”
