Stellenbosch boss Steve Barker is keen to see his manne kick on in their second PSL season.
Having been promoted to the top flight last term, the Bolanders just missed out on a top-eight finish after losing just one of their six games in the bio-bubble.
And Barker hopes his team can continue with that level of performance and ambition.
Reflecting on where the club is, he says: “I wouldn’t say the word was disappointed. It was perhaps bittersweet, in terms of achieving our objective [of avoiding relegation], but sneaking into the top eight would have been the cherry on the cake.
“Going forward, we’d like to keep improving as a team.”
Stellies will host Swallows in a battle between the last two NFD champions on Saturday as they move into their new Danie Craven Stadium home.
And Barker warned his team not to take the NFD champions lightly.
He says: “We had that feeling last season, we know what it’s like – the euphoria of being in the PSL. It makes them a dangerous opponent.”
