West Ham defender Ryan Fredericks says they can’t just lie down and let hosts Manchester City steamroller them on Sunday.
The Premier League champions are desperate to get back into the groove after falling a record 22 points behind leaders Liverpool, despite being the top goalscorers in the division.
And Fredericks has warned his relegation-threatened side that they can’t afford to sit back against Pep Guardiola’s team.

Fredericks says: “We’re not going to be looking just to stay in the game [against Manchester City] and get a draw. We’re more than confident that we can go and score goals.”
After two straight losses, City need to improve mentally says Guardiola, who will be without hamstrung Raheem Sterling .
He explains: “We cannot say as a team we can’t score goals because we score a lot.
“In this situation, the only thing we can do is play better and maybe be mentally stronger.”
