Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is expecting the unexpected when they face Mexico’s Concacaf champions Monterrey in Wednesday’s 7.30pm Club World Cup semifinal.
Klopp watched his opponents beat hosts Al Sadd 3-2 in an action-packed second-round clash on Sunday’s flight to Qatar.
And after seeing coach Antonio Mohamed’s unpredictable mix of Mexican and Argentinian footballers, the German reckons his Champions League winners will have a challenge on their hands.
He says: “On the plane I could watch Al Sadd against Monterrey.

“It was an interesting game, really lively, two teams with good football and good footballers on the pitch. Slightly different organisation, things we need to get used to.
“It’s Mexican style - full of passion. It’s absolutely interesting; it’s my first game against a Central American team I think, in a proper competition. Let’s try to make the best of it.”

Liverpool have been on a hectic run of fixtures and had to play a team of second-stringers in last night’s League Cup quarterfinal against Aston Villa with Klopp and his first teamers in Doha.
And with a first-ever world title up for grabs for the decorated Anfield club, Klopp is ready to go all-out.
He adds: “All the games we had and you know the situation: we have to win each and every game.
“Now we have an idea, a second ago I left the Monterrey analysis meeting, we have another one tomorrow. Now we started preparing the boys.”
