Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola conceded the Premier League title, saying Liverpool are just too far ahead of them.
Even ahead of Sunday night’s action, when the unbeaten Reds hosted Wolves and City welcomed Sheffield United, Liverpool had a 14-point lead on the champions with a game in hand.
Friday night saw City lose their fifth league game of the season, one less than they lost in the last two campaigns.
Though City went 2-0 up after goalkeeper Ederson had been sent off, Wolves roared back to beat them 3-2.

And Guardiola says they should now look to catch Leicester in second and consolidate position: “The advantage is too big, yes.
“It’s unrealistic to think about Liverpool, we think about Leicester. We have the chance to recover second place.
"I know the quality of my team but that’s the situation.”
The Catalan also played down focusing on a cup treble with the League Cup, FA Cup and Liverpool’s Champions League title up for grabs, adding: "We cannot prioritise or next season we’ll not be in Europe.”

Meanwhile, City CEO Ferran Soriano says Guardiola won’t be leaving at the end of the season if he comes up empty-handed.
He says: “There is no discussion about this.
“Pep will stay and he’ll leave at the right time one day - and the club is strong enough to survive any change.”
