Lionel Messi scored twice as Barcelona beat Alaves
3-0 at the Camp Nou on Saturday.
Messi scored with a free-kick under the Alaves wall on 64 minutes. It
was Barcelona's 6,000th goal in La Liga.
Messi had also scored the club's 5000th league goal in 2009 and this
was his 15th consecutive season scoring in La Liga.
Substitute Philippe Coutinho made it 2-0 with seven minutes left and
Messi added the third scoring with the last kick of the game.
Earlier Saturday Celta Vigo drew 1-1 at home to Espanyol. Mario
Hermoso scored just before half time to put the visitors ahead but
his central defensive partner David Lopez put through his own net in
the second half to equalise.
Later Real Sociedad won 2-1 at Villarreal. New signing Gerard Moreno
scored on his debut to put Villarreal ahead after 16 minutes. But
goals from Willian Jose and Juanmi gave the Real Sociedad victory.
