Tottenham and France captain Hugo Lloris was charged
with drink driving after being stopped by police in London early
Friday morning.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper, who won the World Cup with France last
month, was stopped stopped by a routine patrol and taken to the
police station before being released.
"Hugo Lloris, 31, of East Finchley, was charged with drink driving on
Friday, 24 August," the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
"He has been bailed to return to Westminster Magistrates' Court on
Tuesday, 11 September."
Lloris has more than 250 appearances since joining Spurs from Lyon in
2012.
Tottenham have won both of their Premier League matches this season
and next play at Manchester United on Monday.
