Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho says Liverpool shouldn’t have been awarded the throw-in that led to their winner in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Reds moved 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League after Roberto Firmino’s clinical first-half finish.
But there was some controversy in the lead-up to the goal as the ball came off Sadio Mane before going out of play and not Serge Aurier, as was
decided by the officials.
That means it should have been Spurs’ throw-in and not the Reds’ ball.

A fuming Mourinho says: “I didn’t watch [the replay].
“What I saw is 200 percent that the throw-in for the start of the goal was our throw. I am confused with VAR because of that.”
The Premier League, though, does not check on throw-ins or corners.
And Mourinho adds: “This is football. Sometimes you get more than you deserve.
“Sometimes you get less. “This was an occasion when we got nothing when we deserved something.
“It was our throw-in from their goal.

“From that they score a goal. I am a player’s coach though so I have to be a little upset with them because yesterday we spent time working on defensive throw-ins.”
Spurs had chances of their own to get a result in the second half, but attackers Heung-Min Son and Giovani Lo Celso couldn’t find the back of the net.
