Proteas batsman Zubayr Hamza is hoping the band at St George’s Park brings out the best in him during the third Test against England.
With the series levelled at 1-1 and play in the third encounter starting today at 10am, the 24-year-old Capetonian is excited to take the field in what will be his fifth Test match.
Having spent some time with consultant Jacques Kallis in the nets to perfect his batting style, Hamza is hopeful that the PE brass band will help him get his bat to start singing.
With only one fifty in his fledgling Test career to date, Hamza says: “I do enjoy playing at St George’s Park - it’s usually a nice batting wicket. At times the band is here, so the atmosphere is kind of refreshing and hopefully that will play in my favour.”

Hamza believes the Proteas can take their game to the next level and adds: “We haven’t been at our best. Some of us are learning, others just need to tighten up on certain aspects of their game.
“We have spoken to each other and bounced ideas. Hopefully we can execute those game plans.
