Lewis Hamilton returned to the top of the Formula One world championship on Sunday by winning the Spanish Grand Prix in a fifth successive one-two for Mercedes.
The 76th victory of the five-time world champion’s career, and third of the season, sent Hamilton seven points clear of Finnish teammate Valtteri Bottas after five of the 21 races.
The Brit took an extra point for the fastest lap of the race.
Max Verstappen finished third for Honda-powered Red Bull, ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc.
Of his win, Hamilton says: “I have to put it down to this incredible team.
“This is history in the making, with five 1-2 finishes in a row.
“I’m so happy for every one of them.
“I haven’t had a fastest lap all year and it was about time.”
Bottas adds: “I lost it at the start – some strange behaviour on the clutch.
“As a team it’s incredible. I got some good points – every single point counts.”
