Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela signed a new
four-year deal with the Premier League club on Friday.
In a move that came hot on the heels of a new contract for Heung-Min
Son, the Argentinian will be tied to the club until 2022.
Lamela has made 154 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham and
returned from injury in November to play a major part in the club's
successes last season.
"It's difficult to be injured, especially for a long time, but I
never gave up," Lamela told Tottenham's website.
"Everything is in the past now. To be strong mentally helped me a lot
and now I'm ready to play and to enjoy.
"I'm training hard every day to be ready for the first game.
Hopefully I stay like this, injury-free, for the whole season. I'm
very confident this season will be good for me and for the team as
well."
