Maritzburg United lived to fight another day as they climbed off the bottom of the PSL table on the final day to make the NFD playoffs.
Since Eric Tinkler took charge of the struggling club at the start of February, the 'Team of Choice' won five games to take them to second last in the league.
On Saturday, they secured their 27th point in a 1-1 with Baroka to finish level on points with Free State Stars, but finish above their rivals thanks to a superior goal difference.
