Liverpool may be waiting to find out if they will lift the Premier League trophy, but they do not have to wait to find out if they're the most valuable squad in Europe.
According to the CIES Football Observatory, Jurgen Klopp’s squad would command the most in the transfer market across the continent’s top-five leagues – not that he would want to sell any of his stars.
The Reds, who are the runaway league leaders and require just two points for their first top-flight title in 30 years, have put together a group worth an aggregated value of £1.27billion.
The Anfield outfit beat Manchester City into second, while Barcelona and Real Madrid in third and fourth all hit the billion-pound mark. The La Liga title rivals are separated by a sum of just £63million.
Chelsea occupy fifth spot in the standings, and the CIES have attributed their value of £917m to the “outbreak of many young talents following the transfer ban imposed by Fifa”.
