After seeing his Cape Town City teammate Thabo Nodada get a first Bafana Bafana call-up this week, Ayanda Patosi is keen on wearing the Gold and Green again.
Patosi is getting back to his best form after dropping much of the weight that held him back last season.
The dangerous attacking midfielder also began to focus on his game rather than his off-field activities.
And with two goals and two assists to his name, the former Lokeren ace is hoping to add to his 12 caps and three strikes for the national team.
He tells IOL: “I’m closer to that Bafana call up. I’m working hard on it. I want to be back in the Bafana Bafana team. The more I’m playing at Cape Town City, the more I know I have a chance to go back to Bafana.
“I’m still young at 25 years old. So, if I can get the call up I will be happy because people can see what I’m doing and the hard work that I’m putting on the field of play.”
With a MTN8 winners medal from the weekend around his neck, Patosi must now turn his attention to helping City climb up the PSL table, where they were stranded in 12th position at the end of Tuesday night’s action.
But winning the competition will help them bounce back and remember their best.
He adds: “It is the best feeling ever especially when you deserve the trophy."
