Ajax Cape Town are between a rock and a hard place when it comes to making plans for next season.
The Cape club won a High Court ruling to reinstate them to 15th place in the league in the Ndorogate saga, qualifying them for the playoffs for a PSL place.
But the PSL are appealing that decision and are pressing on to kick off next season without the Urban Warriors on August 3-5.
Ajax, though, on Tuesday outlined their plan to interdict the kickoff the 2017/18 campaign.
It leaves everyone at Ikamva - management, coaching staff and players - in limbo.
CEO Ari Efstathoiu says all he can do is to keep everyone focused on the football.
He explains: “If you can imagine, I have to deal with the technical director, then I have to deal with the coach and then I have got to deal with the players.
“And we have to keep them in the frame of mind of being professional wherever they play.
“We met with them before this to try and explain the situation, but as confused as all of us are you can imagine where they are.
“And we try to keep them focused on the field and not off the field.
“But you can imagine the confusion in their minds not knowing whether they are playing in the PSL or the NFD.”
Whatever the case may be, the Urban Warriors need players after a concerning exodus of talent at the end of last season, including the man at the centre of it all - Tendai Ndoro.
Efstathiou says that they will have to take a high-risk gamble, financially and on players, to equip coach Muhsin Ertugral with a capable squad.
He adds: “You can imagine the confusion on our [management’s] side, trying to ascertain how do we strengthen the squad.
“Do we strengthen with PSL-type players or NFD-type players? Do we go through the expense of bringing in PSL-earning players into a NFD structure or do we bring NFD-paying players in a PSL structure?
“So we are sitting in absolute limbo while all the other clubs are strengthen their squads.
“We have to go high-risk now and try to get players that can play in the both divisions.
"I think it’s hard enough trying to get players to do well in one division.”
