What the hell happened in Baku last Wednesday? I had mentally prepared myself to accept a loss to Arsenal.
There was a weird vibe in the Chelsea camp ahead of the game and the Gunners had the MASSIVE incentive of that all-important Champions League spot to push the players 150 percent.
It was a k @k boring first half, neither side really getting into it, but the second 45?
Love him or hate him, Maurizio Sarri did something that completely changed the complexion of the game.
Okay, he pushed the shape wider allowing for swift breaks down the lines, but it was more about the psychological switch that turned it all on its head. Unai Emery’s side looked like they were under some kind of muti spell as the Blues upped the energy.
I couldn’t believe it, we could have put seven or eight past them.
The big trophy for us, of course, was mission accomplished keeping them out of the Champions League.

It was an emotional celebration all-round, Sarri winning his first trophy, Arsenal players and fans crying, Eden Hazard probably playing his last game for the club.
Despite my heterosexual tendencies, I’d willingly spend a night spooning against Hazard's amazingly well-defined hard buttocks. Man, we’re gonna miss him.
But onto a more important subject and well done to Liverpool champions of Europe and deserved.
The game itself really disappointed and it always felt like we were just waiting for a second Liverpool goal to finish it off following the disastrous second-minute penalty.
The most exciting moment for many was the Instagram model running on to the pitch semi-naked.

Spurs were awful. Not sure why Harry Kane was kept on the pitch ahead of the busy Lucas Moura? With Deli Alli, Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen (deployed far too high up the pitch to conduct) hardly able to create a single dangerous moment.
Jurgen Klopp deserved this, he’s improved his side year on year for the last four years and missed out on silverware enough times, making it that much more special.
On a personal note, as a Chelsea fan, I was relieved that it went as planned, would have been unbearable losing our spot as the only team in London with a European Cup.
There were a couple of amazing moments following the match which are worth looking up on Youtube.
Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger in studio overlooking the pitch at full-time refusing to talk while the fans sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
There was Jordan Henderson running over to his old man, who’s been suffering from throat cancer. While hundreds of greedy press cameras (and the world looked on) they embraced for a minute. They could have been in a silent room.
Locked in their own bubble as a proud father and loving kid, they held on to each other as one tears flowed.
Back to reality ladies and gents, it really is all over now, no more football for a couple of months!
