Bafana Bafana will be led by U17 South Africa mentor Molefi Ntseki as interim coach until Safa appoint a successor for Stuart Baxter after his resignation on Friday.
Baxter, for the second time as South Africa’s national soccer team head coach, announced he was walking away, saying: “Someone should continue with this project and therefore I am resigning.”
The Brit revealed that he felt that he had no support from his Safa bosses and that he was battling cancer after leading Bafana to an Afcon quarterfinal exit in June.

Baxter added: “A coach must have confidence that his input can help the project move forward and at this moment in time, after the Afcon, my belief in the process has weakened considerably.
Baxter will receive no severance package and Safa on Saturday confirmed that Ntseki will take the reins after being a part of the Bafana setup as an interim assistant since last year.
A Safa statement reads: “Given that Ntseki has been with Bafana Bafana for quite a while now, it was felt that in the interest of continuity, and given the upcoming fixtures in September, Ntseki is best placed to follow through with the foundation that has been laid by coach Baxter.”
