Benni McCarthy graduated with a Uefa Pro License last Thursday – the highest coaching qualification in the game.
And now the Cape Town City boss has his eyes on the biggest managerial in the world.
Bafana Bafana’s all-time leading goalscorer already has one major trophy under his belt – the MTN8 – and now wants to test his skills at former clubs Porto and Blackburn Rovers, as well as Manchester United.
After returning from his graduation in Belfast, he told 702 on Tuesday: “To be able to deal with these kinds of personalities in big team, so I just thought it was only right that I do go and educate myself, because as a player it is one thing, but as a coach, it’s a completely different level.
“That’s what I found out on these courses and I’m so glad that I did, because in the long run I know it’s going to be very beneficial.
“There were things I learnt that you take for granted as a player, and know I have a broader knowledge of the game.
“And slowly but surely it’s paying dividends.”
