Despite their flying start in this year’s Currie Cup, Western Province coach John Dobson is adamant that his defending champions can still improve.
WP beat the Free State Cheetahs 32-0 in their tournament opener, before hammering the Pumas 57-28 last weekend.
And while he was happy with the way his team played in Nelspruit, Dobson adds: “We possibly didn’t look after the ball as much as we could have and we certainly didn’t exit well after our restarts.
“If you score eight tries then you are getting nine restarts and we weren’t as effective as we could have been, but that is something we can fix easily and work on.
“It is a tough place to play and that team [the Pumas] was unbeaten, so we were happy with that result.”
Province have a bye and enough time this week to fix what they want to, before facing the Golden Lions at Ellis Park in two weeks’ time.
