Cheslin Kolbe could still be part of the Blitzbokke’s plans for the Tokyo Olympics later this year.
A World Cup winner with the Springboks at Japan 2019, Kolbe has made it clear that he wants to return to Olympics Games action having helped South Africa to a bronze medal in Rio de Janeiro four years ago.
The 26-year-old’s French club Toulouse, however, have said that they are not keen to release one of their star players in July-August.
But Springbok Sevens boss Neil Powell tells SArugbymag that anything is possible if the hotstepping superstar is still keen.

Powell says: "I think from Cheslin’s side he is always keen to join us and to do the Olympics with us, but unfortunately, we couldn’t get him released from Toulouse.
"Again, it might be that the Olympics is postponed [due to the coronavirus] so we will have to play it by ear. That door is not closed, yet. I think the door is still open.

"We will definitely look after the guys that played the whole season first before we look outside the system.”
