The Stormers will have to be road warriors to get a victory in their Super Rugby opener this weekend.
Last year, the Kaapenaars had an incurable case of homesickness, failing to win any matches away from Newlands.
And ahead of their first game of the campaign against the Bulls at Loftus this Saturday at 5.15 pm, they have to breek af in the Bulle’s house.
Stormers forwards boss Russell Winter says: "Last year was a nightmare in terms of us playing away from home.
“We don’t want to make an issue out of it, but this year we have definitely upped our mental side of things, so we can address playing away from home and playing a better brand of rugby and come out of our shells.
“And go to Loftus, it doesn’t take away the fact that it’s going to be tough game, so we going go up there and hopefully get that bogey off our back and put in a good performance.”
The Stormers got the better of the Bulls in their pre-season clash at Cape Town Stadium last Sunday.
But Winter warns that the Bulls will be no pushovers on their turf and the likes of former Stormers aces Duane Vermeulen and Schalk Brits looking to impress.
The coach adds: “That Bulls pack, when they play over there, they play with an intensity that’s close to Test-match level. So our pack has to be up for it this time.
“We know what they are like and our pack is going to have to match that over there to get a win.”
