The Springboks will be out to show why they are giants of the rugby world when they face Japan in their final World Cup warm-up match on Friday.
Captain Siya Kolisi and his teammates will take their first step on their path to destroy the entire world for the next month or so when they face the hosts in what is labelled a friendly.
With the tournament kicking off in two week’s time, South Africa have some unfinished business with the hosts.
They were stunned by the Japanese at the last tournament.
This time around, they won’t underestimate their opponents according to Kolisi.
Back to lead the team for the first time this year, he says: “They [Japan] will obviously have prepared for us - but in the same way we have prepared for them.
“We will have to make sure we are on our toes at all times.”
Kolisi, who only recently returned from long-term knee injury, adds: “It was tough watching from the sidelines, but the great thing was that I was involved the whole time.
“The coach made sure that I was in all the meetings and I ran the water in one game, which was completely amazing and different; it’s as involved as you can be in a Test match without actually playing.
“And I could see how hard the guys were working. I have to say, this is a special group and what makes them so special is that they work so hard for one another.”
