Not only will the Currie Cup be up for grabs when Western Province host the Sharks at Newlands on Saturday, but players will also be out to earn a Springbok jersey too.
One such player is WP utility back Dillyn Leyds, who has not yet represented the national team under coach Rassie Erasmus.
Up against the Sharks, who boasted no less than four capped Springboks in their backline alone in their semifinal against the Golden Lions last weekend, WP only has two Boks in their backline.
Still, it’s the Capetonians that have served up the best brand of running rugby this season.
Leyds is one of those WP Boks, with flyhalf Damian Willemse being the other.
And getting ready to face the Sharks' Springboks (Curwin Bosch, Sbu Nkosi, Lwazi Mvovo and Louis Schreuder), Leyds knows the WP backline has a point to prove.
He says: “Both backlines have got some really talented guys. For us, it will be a good test to see how we go against their backs.

They’ve got a couple of Springboks in it.
“It’s going to be a good challenge for us - we know where their strength lies and they know where ours lie.”
Leyds believes home advantage will go a long way in helping the Capetonians keep hold of the trophy they won in Durban last year.
He adds: “A lot has been said about the Currie Cup, but we’re just thankful that people still want to turn up to Newlands.
“I think we’ve done ourselves proud up until now by playing the type of rugby we’ve been playing to draw the crowd back.
“Hopefully this weekend we’ll see an even bigger crowd.
“The guys took a lot of energy from the crowd in those last 20 minutes of extra time [in the 35-32 win over the Blue Bulls in the semifinal].
“All is good and well with Currie Cup rugby.”
