Uitgehonger vir maande, fans of the
English Premier League better get ready for a live soccer bonanza once the league returns next month.
With armchair fans deprived of live football since Leicester’s victory over Aston Villa on March 9, England’s top-flight is reportedly planning weekends of bingewatching-worthy football.
It could see all 10 games over a matchweek put on live television, with five shown back-to-back on Saturday and another five on the Sunday.
According to The Mirror in the UK, games would start every two hours from 1pm (South African time), with further kick-offs at 3pm, 5pm, 7pm and 9pm.
The bulk of the remaining 92 games will take place over weekends, but there is believed to be a push from broadcasters to show some games in midweek.
That would see a Champions League style format take over with kick-offs at 7pm and 9pm.
