Cape Town City have stepped up the intensity of individual training regimes after going into lockdown due to the coronavirus crisis.
As per government regulation, the players have been indoors since Friday, having had their final training session at their Hartleyvale base last Thursday.
But they have been put to work by fitness coach Lee Mills to keep themselves in peak shape.
Club media officer Julian Bailey tells the Daily Voice: “The players will train every day and send their workout ratings according to the intensity of their workouts to our fitness trainer.”
They also get feedback from coach Jan Olde Riekerink, who keeps in touch via the club’s WhatsApp group.
Bailey adds: “The coach is talking to them a few times a week and stressing the importance of everyone putting in the work.”
So while the guys are in lockdown, City are doing their best to keep their players in tip-top shape for when the season resumes.
