Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp knows getting the three points that will take them into the Champions League last 16 tonight will not be coming easy.
Already missing a vrag first-teamers, the Reds can’t seem to shake their injury curse this season.
Klopp confirmed yesterday that utility man James Milner was added to Anfield walking wounded and will miss tonight’s Group D clash against Dutch champions Ajax.
Milner suffered a hamstring pull in Saturday’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Brighton.
And Klopp blasted broadcasters after that game for their scheduling not taking the players’ health into consideration.
Klopp last week also called for the reintroduction of the five substitutions in the league under Project Restart, which Prem bosses and rival clubs have to refused this season.
A clearly irritated Klopp says: “It’s not a perfect situation but obviously not enough people want to offer us any kind of help, not only for us but for [all] football people.
“We just have to deal with it.
“I said it always – as long as we can line up with 11 players, we will fight with all we have.
“And that’s still the case.”
After a Nicolas Tagliafico own goal gave Liverpool a 1-0 win the Johan Cruyff Arena in Game Week 2, Klopp is expecting another tough game when they host the Eredivisie log leaders.
The German adds: “Ajax is a really good side. And since they are pretty much flying in their league with big results.
“They are very talented and, yes, I expect a close game.
“Three points tonight will be great, really great.”
