Harry Kane believes coach Jose Mourinho can turn Tottenham into a fearsome attacking force.
Spurs claimed a first victory in eight matches across all competitions on Tuesday night with a 2-0 derby win over West Ham, sparked by a 64th-minute own goal from Tomas Soucek before Kane sealed the points with a late strike.
For Kane, it was his first goal since injuring himself on New Year’s Day and the England captain took the opportunity to defend Mourinho’s playing style which has been attacked for being defensive.
SkySports pundit forward Paul Merson on
Saturday even suggested that Kane should leave Spurs to get more goals.
But Kane says: “I’ve got no problem with how the manager plays.
“He’s here to win, we’re here to win games... obviously this season, to get into the Champions League and next season to progress and try to win something.
“People, pundits have their opinions.”
The win moved Spurs to within five points of Chelsea, who face Manchester City tonight.
Meanwhile, Leicester and Brighton played to goalless draw in Tuesday’s other Prem action.
