Red-hot Liverpool striker Mo Salah is ‘n honger wolf and is lus for more goals when he and his pack tackle Wolves at Molineux at 5pm tomorrow.
Salah bagged a brace on Wednesday night to take his tally to 13 league goals and 19 in all competitions this season as the Reds mauled local rivals Everton 4-1 at Goodison Park.
But boss Jurgen Klopp says his ace was kwaad for missing out on a hattrick, as Jordan Henderson and Diogo Jota also struck to heap more misery on the Toffees’ former Anfield boss Rafa Benitez.
With the result keeping the Reds within two points of Premier League leaders Chelsea, Klopp says of Salah’s performance: “Crazy. He [Salah] was angry after the game.
“He wanted to score a third one, I don’t know exactly which situation but who cares.
“[It’s] all fine. That’s how strikers are.”
And if Wolves thought that anger was reserved just for derby rivals, Salah was keen to send a message to the rest of the world after it was revealed that the Egyptian placed just seventh in the Ballon d’Or voting at Monday’s ceremony.
Asked about his snub, Salah just laughed it off in a post-match interview, saying: “I have no comment.”
Wolves boss Bruno Lage, meanwhile, has more worries than the smiling assassin ahead of Liverpool’s visit, with a fresh Covid outbreak in his squad, after losing leftback Marcal and winger Daniel Podence already.
Following their goalless draw with Burnley in midweek, the Portuguese says: “If I was concerned two weeks ago, you can imagine what I am at this moment.”
