All Blacks legend Dan Carter is still not making the unbeaten Blues squad in New Zealand’s Super Rugby Aotearoa.
After joining the squad at the start of the tournament, Carter’s role has been limited to that of waterboy as coach Leon MacDonald is sticking to his guns.
With rising star Otere Black running the show at flyhalf and Beauden Barrett playing at fullback, there is no need yet to bring in Carter.
Unbeaten after two rounds, the Blues next face the Highlanders tomorrow at 9.05am in Auckland.
Of naming an unchanged team, MacDonald says: “The whole squad is training hard, and our current starters are getting tested at every training session, which is what we want.
“This group of 23 continue to do the business. They are developing well to the style of game we want to play and adapting positively to the new rule emphasis, which will lead to a more exciting and fluid game.”
