Former Proteas coach Gary Kirsten is available to help the struggling South African national cricket team.
But the current Durban Heat coach doesn’t want it to be just a quick fix, he wants there to be a proper plan in place before he engages with the Proteas.
South Africa currently do not have a head coach, with Enoch Nkwe acting as interim while Cricket South Africa goes through its shake-up.
With Graeme Smith on the verge of being named Director of Cricket, there has been calls to rope in Kirsten.

And the former SA opening batsman tells Cricbuzz: “I’m always willing to help in whatever way possible, but only if it’s done through a proper and sustainable process and not just as a quick fix solution.”
For now, though, the 52-year-old has more pressing issues.
His Durban Heat Mzansi Super League team must beat Jozi Stars tonight in the last round-robin clash if they want to make the playoffs. But Kirsten admits that their fate is out of their hands.
Rain is forecast for the Round 10 fixture at Kingsmead, something that the hosts can ill afford if they want to qualify for the playoffs.

The maths is simple for Kirsten, beat the woeful defending champs and they will be through.
He says: “It’s not looking good, but hopefully the weather will change. The wind blows really strong in these parts, so hopefully we can still get a game.
“We’ve still got a chance and we know what needs to be done.”
