AB de Villiers on Monday confirmed that he will play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the Lahore Qalandars, saying he wants to do his bit to help revive cricket in Pakistan.
The former Proteas captain will take the big step of playing on Pakistani soil in a bid to bring more top-class cricket to the nation.
Most of the PSL matches are staged in the UAE, but the Pakistan Cricket Board is pushing for more games in Pakistan.
And AB says: “I am delighted to confirm that I will represent Lahore Qalandars in front of our home crowds on 9 and 10 March.
"I sympathise with the people of Pakistan because they have been cricket-starved for no fault of theirs, but I am optimistic that the days are not too far when international cricket will return to Pakistan."
