Brian McMillan has slammed CSA’s Spin Camp coaching staff.
On Monday, it was announced that Russell Domingo, Paul Adams, Ashwell Prince and Vincent Barnes would prepare South Africa’s spinners and batsmen for their Test and T20I assignment in India next month and will work with them at a spin camp in Bengaluru later this month as CSA’s shake up their coaching staff.
But Big Mac is unimpressed with the quartet.
This despite now-SA “A” coach Domingo being a former Proteas coach, Adams an ex-Cape Cobras mentor, Prince the current head Cobras coach and CSA High Performance chief Barnes a former Proteas bowling coach.
In an exchange on SA Cricket Magazine’s Facebook page, the former Proteas allrounder said: “It is a f*****g joke.
Former Warwickshire cricketer David Smith remarked that all of them have “Level 3” qualifications. But McMillan fired back: “With no brain cells? I wonder if they cribbed”.
Smith pointed out that Gogga took 134 Test scalps, but McMillan with 75, says: “With no brain. Played lots of cricket with him. He was good against the tail boys could not read the hand!!!!
“Will be interesting to see how many of his wickets were batters 7-11!!!!”
