Once the 21-day lockdown is over, Cape Cobras captain Dane Piedt will be getting ready to move out of the Mother City.
The 30-year-old spin bowler, who has represented South Africa in nine Test matches to date, started his professional career in the Mother City and has called Newlands his home for 10 years now.
But that’s all about to change, with Piedt announcing his shock departure on Twitter on Thursday.

Piedt has only ever represented the Mother City franchise and it remains to be seen who he will play for next term.

While they will lose their captain, the Cobras also lost the services of up-and-coming speedster Thando Ntini, son of legendary paceman Makhaya, who will further his career at the Titans.
