Gavin Hunt hit back at his critics after his Wits side maintained their 100 percent start to the PSL season on Wednesday night.
The Students were fortunate to beat Bucs 1-0, courtesy of Gladwin Shitolo’s 80th-minute own-goal.
But their direct approach could have been more effective or varied given the talent he has at his disposal.
Hunt, however, says: “Let them [Pirates] have the ball, they will play the whole day you know and we just have to look after the long ball. The big long ball into the box the whole day, which we did.
“Once we started pressing them then they had problems. I said to players drop back, it’s totally the opposite of what want to play. I mean what’s the game all about? The game is about results isn’t it?
The Clever Boys face another stiff test of their know-how when they host SuperSport United tomorrow night (8.15pm).
