Cape Town City coach Jan Olde Riekerink has challenged his players to win the Nedbank Cup to remedy a tough season for the club.
With their struggles in the league, which saw Riekerink replace Benni McCarthy in December, the Dutchman told his players the best way to remember such a tough time is to take home the trophy.

The 2016 Turkish Cup winner with Galatasaray tells reporters: “When you end your career one of the few things you can take with you, is the prizes that you win.
“This is a chance for the players to fight for one.”

Ahead of Sunday’s last-32 trip to NFD strugglers Mbombela United, the coach knows they have to get past their opponents.
He adds: “In these games, we know we are the favourite and we are supposed to win this game.
“So we know that they will be highly motivated, but we expect to be dominant.”
