Molweni, I trust you’ve entered the year called 20 Plenty with a lot of hope and enthusiasm for all the football and drama we’re going to witness.
It’s a mess out there in the race for the PSL title bafethu.
It’s so hard to even pick a favourite to win the league this season.
Kaizer Chiefs had their fans excited because they were sitting nicely up there when we went into the festive break.
But if we’re honest, 35 points from 15 matches is rather unconvincing.
Mamelodi Sundowns will not even break a sweat keeping up that pace and they have a crazy schedule of travelling and matches.
And they have the Telkom Knockout in the bag already, so they have tasted glory and that feeling can be very addictive.
Wits are also in the mix, with three matches in hand.
The Students have to win all those matches though, they can’t afford any slip-ups if they are to stay in the race and match Chiefs.

Meanwhile, Sundowns’ neighbours in Tshwane, SuperSport United, are the jokers in the pack.
Those guys know how to disrupt the status quo. They beat Wits and Sundowns on their way to the MTN8 title.
They have found a way to do the business against the contenders in this campaign, their problem is that they can’t seem to keep that up against the sides with lesser quality.
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates are supposedly having a really bad season, but they are just five points behind Wits.
What if their “bad” performances are behind them and they go on a crazy run of wins?
Now that would flip the conversation on its head, but that only and only if they win matches.
There’s no other way for Amabhakaniya to be relevant. They simply must score goals and win matches qha. Finish en klaar!
Okay, if the top is a mess, what’s happening down there at the bottom is chaos. It’s amazing what a win can do a team down there.

Cape Town City were flirting with relegation at the break, with no wins and goals under their new coach. They came back from the break with a win and moved up four places. It’s really insane just how tight it is down there.
Every point is precious at the bottom and the other Cape ouens, Stellenbosch, need to make the most of every available opportunity so that they can stay up.
Worst-case scenario is that they play in the playoffs.
Hopefully not against Ajax Cape Town, because we need as many Cape teams at the top league as possible or kanjani bafethu?
