Manchester City claimed derby bragging rights with a 3-1 win over Manchester United at Eastlands on Sunday night and took a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
City, a team that had scored six goals in each of their last two matches, got into the groove straight from the kickoff as Bernardo Silva fired just wide of the United goal.
But the hosts would not be denied for too long and David Silva struck in the 12th minute.
Raheem Sterling whipped in a cross from the left where Bernardo slid in to cut back for his namesake to control inside the area and pick his spot to make it 1-0.
City continued to create chances at will with their possession game, with United picking up scraps to launch counters.
City went close just before the interval as the Silvas combined to tee up Sergio Aguero, who fired into the side-netting from a tight angle.
But a minute after the break, Aguero drove at the defence, played a one-two with Riyad Mahrez before smashing into the roof of the net from a similar position to put City 2-0 up.
Then City gave United the chance to half the deficit from the penalty spot in the 58th minute when goalkeeper Ederson brought down Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial obliged to make it 2-1.
But there was no United comeback as Ilkay Gundogan took down Bernardo's cross and fired past David de Gea with four minutes to go.
In the other late game, Arsenal was held 1-1 by Wolves at the Emirates.
