Cape Town City unveiled a fresh kit and announced a new title shirt sponsor on Wednesday as they get ready to kick off the upcoming season.
The Citizens have teamed up with local financial institution DirectAxis as they expanded their partnership, having been a sleeve sponsor, after the deal with Kenyan betting firm Sportpesa expired.
While City look to new beginnings, captain Thami Mkhize and his manne will come face to face with their past on Sunday in their MTN8 last-16 clash with former coach Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu.

While rightback Mkhize admits that McCarthy knows the bulk of the squad well, they are in it to win it when they clash at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
He says: “Playing against your former coaches is always difficult, especially since they know almost each player’s individual strengths and weaknesses.
“But we look forward to the challenge. We have prepared well and will be coming with a different approach.”
City boss Eric Tinkler could unleash highly-rated striker Khanyisa Mayo, after the 22-year-old impressed in the off-season since his arrival from Richards Bay.
If given his kans, Mayo is hoping to show his skills off against McCarthy and emulate the Mzansi legend.
He adds: “Facing a coach like him it’s not going to be esy. He knows a lot of the guys [here] very well and they share a special bond.
“He also had a great career as a player and achieved what we all hope to achieve. Now it’s our time to make our names and be remembered like him also.”
