Cape Town City have no option but to chase glory in the Telkom Knockout, having won the title in the 2016-17 season.
City boss Benni McCarthy insists he won’t change their attacking approach despite his team leaking goals this season.
As the top goalscorers in the PSL with 13 goals, City will hope they can net some more balls against Chiefs this weekend and midfielder Mark Mayambela believes it is his time to shine.
A Chiefs fan as a kid, the man named Prof says: “I believe that Cape Town City is a big club.

“And we have to win the Cup without anyone, the chairman or the coach, telling us to.
“It’s the quality and the experience of the players here who have won things.
“Also the new guys Mpho Makola and Kermit [Erasmus], to name a few, have won things with other teams and we won the MTN8 last season.
“There are winners here at this club. It’s their nature.”
Still, ahead of Saturday’s 3pm Telkom Knockout clash at Cape Town Stadium against league leaders Kaizer Chiefs, boss Benni McCarthy wants his manne to go all out in the Cup game.

At the end of August, City held the lead against Chiefs before going down 2-1 and McCarthy doesn’t want a repeat of that.
He says: “This time we don’t want to come out second best. This is an opportunity for us to get things right.
“Hopefully those days are behind us and we can keep a clean sheet against Chiefs.”
