It looks as if peace has broke out at Cape Town City.
Coach Benni McCarthy revealed this week that his head could be on the chopping block at Cape Town City.
But chairman John Comitis has come out to crush any rumours that Benni will fall victim to the fast trigger figures of South African football bosses.
While Benni had made the remark in passing, you get the feeling that the coach is seriously worried about his position at the club after all the happenings around the club.
Expectations have been high at the club and so have the tensions.
Ahead of the season, Benni and Comitis looked at their squad and their performances in the last two campaigns and concluded that they should be challenging for the PSL this term.

They were on the same page then.
But since then Benni and his boss have not been singing from the same hymnsheet.
The coach has been vocal in the media about his frustrations about not landing Robyn Johannes and Mark Mayambela.
And while, the Cape legend has called for those reinforcements, the game on the pitch has gotten away from him.
In these situations, results are all that matter.
So let’s hope for a turnaround in fortunes on the pitch.
