Sharks centre Lukhanyo Am has sent out a stern warning to the Stormers ahead of their Super Rugby clash at Kings Park on Saturday (5.15pm).
Currently the only unbeaten team in the South African Conference, Am says the Stormers will have to be at their best physically if they want to bring down the Black Panther.
Having beaten the Blues and the Sunwolves in their first two matches, tomorrow’s encounter will be the Durbanites’ first against any of their countrymen and Am expects a brutal contest.
He explains: “We couldn’t ask for much better than the two big wins, it’s a confidence booster for us going into this week’s match against the Stormers.
“Like us, the Stormers have a big pack and a good backline, we know we need to pitch up as far as physicality goes.”
As it stands in the Conference, the Stormers are scraping the barrel.
But coach Robbie Fleck and his team will know that winning this match will give them a big boost.
However, they have been struggling at home in recent history and after being demolished by the Bulls in their only away match to date (40-3), they go to Durban with a point to prove.
