The Super League B is heating up and the hunt for a top-six spot is becoming increasingly captivating.
This past weekend, it was the team of Bellville who put their stamp on the league, scoring the biggest win with a 56-12 pak of Hands & Heart in Bellville.
Known for their expansive style of play, a lot was expected of Hands & Heart at the start of the campaign.
Instead, after six matches and only one win, they are currently at the bottom of the log and are expected to struggle to keep their SLB status.
Bellville, meanwhile, showed they mean business this year, running in a total of eight tries thanks to a hattrick by long-time servant Elvernell Julius and a brace by Sergio Kleinhans.
The victory lifted them to sixth spot on the log.
Entering this weekend’s bye, the Bellvillites will know that log position is under threat.
Teams are chasing a top-six spot for the right to play in the playoffs which will ultimately determine the league winner in the end.
One team that will be looking to climb the ladder this weekend is Primrose.

After being relegated from the Super League A at the end of last year, the Roses had one hiccup against Helderberg in their second outing.
But they are starting to feet their feet again after getting the better of Kraaifontein last weekend.
With the Kraaie battling in second from bottom, Primrose dominated them from the first whistle in a 33-19 scoreline.
Roses, still in ninth place on the log, host Paarl on Saturday at Rosmead Avenue.
Coming off a defeat to log leaders Kuilsrivier, who overtook them at the summit, Danwel Demas and his Paarl teammates will be turbocharged to return to winning ways and regain their No.1 position.

That won’t happen if Kuila can do anything about it. In fine form after losing their SLA status two seasons ago, they look destined for the top league once again.
And they should beat a disappointing Pniel Villagers, who have one just one game this season, at home on Saruday.
But after playing to a 15-15 draw with Collegians this past weekend, the Villagers will be hoping that their luck will turn soon.

Meanwhile, Rangers will look for their first win of the season when they host All Saints on Saturday, while Collegians and Hamlets should also serve up some entertaining rugby in Lentegeur.
