Heldeburg proved once again that they mean business in this year’s Super League B tournament, beating Primrose 24-17 away from home last weekend.
With the Roses having dropped from the top flight at the end of last season and showing their quality with a victory over Vineyards in their opener, it is expected that they will be one of the teams to beat in the SLB this year.
But Helderberg, who have been flirting with promotion for a couple of seasons already, produced enough on the day to see them climb to second on the log.
Chasing the log-leading Kuilsrivier, Helderberg will have another tough test of their credentials on Saturday when they host third-placed Paarl at the Charles Morkel Stadium.
With Kuila enjoying a bye this weekend, the winner of that clash will take top spot in the league after this weekend’s round of matches.
