Hamlets have finished the season in top spot in Super League B.
But unfortunately for the men from Mamre, that doesn’t mean an automatic first taste of life in the top flight.
For a number of years now, Hamlets have come close to winning promotion.
But they have one more match to seal the deal and that is on the 21st at City Park when they will play the winner of Saturday’s quarterfinal clash between Franschhoek and St Georges.

For their efforts throughout the season, Hamlets and the team in second place, Kuilsrivier, only get automatic placement in the semifinals - no home advantage and also no easier route to SLA.
The reward in that case seems to be a bit empty and surely has to be revisited by the guys at the top at the union.
While Franschhoek and St Georges will lock horns, the other quarterfinal will see Bellville and Vineyards square off.
The finals, meanwhile, will take place at Newlands on September 24, with the promotion/relegation being played at City Park that weekend.
