Community screening and testing for the Coronavirus will resume in areas across the Western Cape today.
Premier Alan Winde said the province had 628 confirmed cases of Covid-19 infections with 15 of these in intensive care.
Mitchells Plain has recorded 15 cases and Khayelitsha 14.
“We encourage those in communities where testing is occurring to make use of the opportunity. Screening and testing help us to identify pockets of infection, and allow our contact tracing teams to get to work quickly and work to stop the spread,” said Winde.
In the Metro, testing will be conducted at Bloekombos in Kraaifontein, Delft, Bo-Kaap, Imizamo Yethu, Lotus River, Grassy Park, Gugulethu, Nyanga and Kleinvlei.
Winde said screening sites may change at short notice.

The Coronavirus was first recorded in Wuhan, China in December of 2019, it spread to other parts of the world and so far more than 1.8 million people have been infected, with over 115,000 deaths and over 430,000 recoveries.
In South Africa, 27 people have died, with 2272 confirmed cases, and 410 recoveries.
Meanwhile three more schools were broken into and expensive learning equipment stolen from them, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga said yesterday.
“EThekwini Primary [school] in Durban is the latest in a string of schools that have been damaged in recent weeks. The latest burglary happened last [Sunday] night,” she said.
This brings the number of schools vandalised around the country to 183 since the Covid-19 lockdown was enforced on 26 March.
Motshekga called on the community to piemp the skelms and not to buy stolen items.
She said the learners from these schools would be the hardest hit as there could be delays in the implementation of the curriculum recovery plan when schools finally reopen.
