When the national Drift competition goes to the infamous Dezzi raceway in Port Shepstone, fans are guaranteed an action-packed day.
This past weekend was no different, with Drifters from across the land pulling in to do battle on the track, affectionately known as the Rollercoaster for all its twists, turns and changes in gradient.
Overlooking the Indian Ocean, with whales jumping on the day, Dezzi is a season thriller and great motortainment for all.
The grassroots class, for those drivers who have just entered drifting, made for some interesting battles. In the end it was KZN boytjie Sebastian Rich who took it to newcomer Pierre van Reenen to nab the top spot after Pierre spun into a donut on the last corner of the final tandem.

The PRO Class was a nailbiting showdown that, according to some fans, represented the best drifting the 2018 season has experienced to date.
Qualifying was equally compelling and top performances went to Shane Gutzeit who qualified in first place followed by Jason Webb in second, and this would set the bar for the most impactful tandem battles.

The Top 4 pairings rendered some brilliant tyre to tyre tandems. Jim McFarlane went door to door with Shane Guitzeit.
The judges were undecided and it went into a One More Time where McFarlane came out the victor. Then Zanil Satar had a close encounter up against Jason Webb but failed to beat his old rival.

The finals had the crowd on their feet. Webb was pushed to the very end by McFarlane in the opening bout and this too had to go to an OMT; then McFarlane in his pursuit of a clear win pushed too hard and smashed the rear cone at the top of the first corner, handing the relentless Webb the win.
The Championship leader, Jason Webb, says he is extremely happy with the win, it being his toughest day out at the office.
He boasts three wins in the 2018 SupaDrift Series Title pursuit thus far.
