Bafana Bafana have been left without an opponent just days before Saturday’s scheduled friendly.
The national team tweeted on Thursday that the game with Madagascar has been called off as they decided to withdraw from the clash.
This comes days after Zambia decided they weren't going to play their friendly in light of the recent xenophobic attacks in the country.
Chipolopolo cited security concerns as their reason to call of the game and while it had not been confirmed at the time of printing, it’s suspected that the Malagasy have withdrawn from the game for the same reasons.
This means if Safa do not find a replacement before Saturday, Molefi Ntseki will have wait to make his debut as the permanent Bafana Bafana coach.
The boss had hoped to prepare his team for November’s Afcon 2021 qualifiers.

He said: “All that is important is to prepare our team in such a way that when we play Ghana and Sudan in November in the Afcon qualifiers at least we know each other very well and we have a tactical understanding of what is expected of us.”
Ntseki denounced the xenophobic attacks, saying: “It is very worrying. It is an unfortunate situation and we tend to forget that we are all Africans and we are all human beings and to take someone’s life is not acceptable.
"Taking someone’s life or having these xenophobic riots is not good for Africa; so I am appealing to everyone that as Africans, let us be one, let us be united and let us have peace in Africa and when we have peace in Africa, we prosper as Africans.”
